Mt Moss is ideally situated to provide a range of high quality magnetite products to Australia’s enormous coal industry. The deposit of high-grade magnetite is sufficient to service Queensland’s entire Bowen Basin for many years.

In early 2009, the inaugural shipment of magnetite powder commenced to coal preparation plants in central Queensland. There are currently enough reserves for supply to new mines in the Galilee, Bowen and Surat Basins.

The December 2009 commissioning of an upgraded processing plant now gives Mt Moss the capacity to output a much larger quantity of high-grade magnetite powder.

Mt Moss Mining is focusing on the production of three products.

• Magnetite Powder which is used in the coal washing industry, with current capacity to produce 60,000 tonnes of product annually for markets in Central Queensland. This product is also used as concentrate for the production of pellets used in the steel making industry.
• Magnetite Lump suitable for feed stock in the steel making industry. The process involves crushing, screening and dry magnetic separation to produce an export quality lump iron product. Overseas shipments commenced from the Townsville Port in July 2010.
• Magnetite Fines suitable for use as sinter cake feed in the steel making industry, or heavy medium in the pipe weight coating industry.
