One of the first shipments of lump iron ore from Australia’s east coast of 50,000 tonnes was trucked from the Mount Moss mine then loaded and dispatched from the Townsville Port in July 2010.

A second shipment of 50,000 tonnes departed in late August 2010. Both shipments were bound for steel mills in China and are expected to be the first of regular shipments of iron product from the mine which is located 150km north-west of the city of Townsville on Zig Zag Station.

A further three shipments are expected to leave by Christmas 2010 and the company expects to export 500,000 tonnes of iron product to meet orders in 2011.

These shipments are the culmination of 10 years of hard work defining iron ore resources and developing open cut mining and processing circuits at Mount Moss.

Sales of coal washing magnetite product for the first half of 2010 had increased to 5,000 tonnes with a further 6,500 tonnes held in stockpiles.

The company expects to sell 40,000 tonnes of coal washing magnetite fines to meet orders in 2011.
